I’ve adopted Frances after my favorite loving Gramma who taught me how to listen intently.
Education
BA in Economics and an MBA in Pennsylvania in the 80’s – both Labor emphasis.
Mostly I was there to play ball; basketball, softball, tennis and even field hockey.
MPA – University of Texas – 1991, tax emphasis – the ultimate degree, little did I know UT was the top accounting school in the nation, tough, but I made it -
CPA certification 1992 – passed all 4 parts in one sitting.
Work History
After a short and illuminating stint at a large accounting firm in Austin I left the corporate world permanently to begin my career as a serial entrepreneur…

1993 full-service accounting firm in a 1963 Airstream, grew over two decades to employ 5 professionals and serve over 1100 clients

1995 real estate development firm – purchased, remodeled and flipped 16 properties over 20 years.
New Dimensions Physical Therapy
1996 one of the first private pay PT clinics in Austin, located within the Hills fitness center.
Kimber Modern Hotel
2006 award winning, internet-based boutique hotel in Hip SoCo area of Austin.
Driftwood
2015 wildly successful substance abuse and pain recovery center In the Texas hill country that grew to over $10million in revenue in 3 years.
LadyBird
2022 newly designed 22 room hotel with restaurant and biscuit bar soon to be under construction in the Rainey district in Austin.
Family
An incredible, creative and supportive wife, Lissa Patrizi, a lovely, intelligent and beautiful daughter, Kenna, in graduate school for transpersonal psychology and a very old, loyal and stoic yorkie, Mr. Pepper. Also blessed with a loving extended family of my mom, her husband, my in-laws, and several BFF’s, whose parents and children I get to share.
Things I do not love
Social media, spicey foods, insensitive corporate culture, scrooges, rules, discrimination, dressing up, voice mail, soggy cereal, narcissism and ‘nay sayers’, supremacy in any form, pastel colors.
Things I love
Modern design, especially mid-century, architecture, Christmas lights, chocolate, any sport with a ball, equanimity, sneakers and yoga pants, long walks, cycling, spreadsheets, compassion & optimism in the face of adversity, vibrant colors.
